My transition into becoming a part of Voyager’s crew has been a very rough road with lots of bumps and turns.  The crew seemed to hate me at first, but now I think they’re starting to warm up to my unique boyish charms.

While in sickbay, a beautiful Orion girl came on to me like a dog to a bone.  I guess I can’t blame her for not being able to resist my intense magnetism.  She did strike me as a very special woman though, and I definitely considered her attempts to woo me.  Other women tried to seduce me too, but I was too preoccupied with my duties to entertain them much.

Some of the crew initially were very hostile to me though, especially the men. I guess they were partly threatened by my good looks.  I would have thought they’ve gotten used to their Tom by now; I guess not.  Add to the equation their prejudice against people from the MU and it gets pretty bad.

I got into trouble for trying to give some ladies a few alhocolic drinks.  They can be pretty strict here as I learned, especially Lt Commander Tuvok.  After that I tried keeping my head low and just did my duties in sickbay, astrometrics and the mess hall.

Over time I got a lot closer to the Orion girl.  Her name is Shara.  She was the only one nice to me when others were mean.  It’s like she understood me for who I really am and sought deeper when other people thought to dismiss me.  After some time, I began to give into her wooing and we became a couple.  The other guys of course got very envious and tried to sabotage me.  Surprisingly, even my best friend Harry.  I guess love can make people do crazy things sometimes.  I hope he comes around though, I could use a guy friend to hang out with in this ship.

Tuvok got us on a training mission.  It was very routine but enjoyable at the same time.  I was partnered up with Ensign Jones and we were first place in the Cave Navigation challeng; that earned us some beer to party with later that night.  The experience was surprisingly enjoyable.  Then, the next day, they got me to pilot the shuttle back to Voyager where I managed to impress the Vulcan with my superb piloting skills.

The second to the best surprise was when we got back on board and got promoted to the rank of Able Spacemen. Well, it wasn’t really a surprise since I saw it coming, but still an honor.

The best surprise came after when Shara and I “celebrated” our promotions.  But that’s something I won’t discuss here.
